The Mind-Body Connection
We believe in a holistic approach, recognizing the intricate connection between mind and body in achieving optimal health. Understanding that stress and emotional distress can manifest physically, we consider the body’s interconnected systems, including the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in detoxification and immune function. Chronic stress can impact this vital system, potentially leading to sluggishness and reduced overall well-being. Our counselling approach aims to reduce stress at its root, supporting your body’s natural processes for balance and health.
We are committed to providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to move forward with clarity and strength.

Our Mental Health Team

Let's get the conversation started.
Your mental health matters and there’s no shame in asking for help. We will support you on your health & wellness journey.
Melissa Cutler RSW/MSW
I provide a safe, impartial space where you feel heard and understood. I believe mental health is about more than just “coping.” It’s about building self-awareness, uncovering old patterns and discovering what truly drives you. I work hard and play hard. I enjoy time with my children and my dog, Kira. Counselling is effective and together we will discover new possibilities for yourself and your future.
Julia Cocomile RSW/MSW
I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work together to uncover what’s holding you back and explore ways to move forward. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs, helping you build a healthier relationship with yourself to create the life you envision.
You deserve to feel confident, fulfilled, and at peace with where you are and where you’re going. Let’s work together to make that happen.
When we are no longer able to change a situation we are challenged to change ourselves.

Psychotherapy
Is ‘Talk Therapy’. It helps people with a wide array of mental health conditions and emotional challenges. It alleviates symptoms and helps identify the root causes of your condition so you can function better and experience enhanced emotional health & wellness.
Some conditions that can be helped by psychotherapy include coping with stressful life events, trauma, medical illness or loss such as the death of a loved one; and specific mental health conditions such as Depression or Anxiety.
There are different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better for your situation. Our Holistic approach aims to calm both mind and body to form a transformational experience at The Calm.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, time-limited, problem-focused and goal oriented form of psychotherapy. CBT helps people learn to identify, question and change how their thoughts, attitudes and beliefs relate to the emotional and behavioural reactions that cause them difficulty.
Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical means “the existence of opposites.” In DBT, people are taught two seemingly opposite strategies: acceptance (i.e., that their experiences and behaviours are valid), and change (i.e., that they have to make positive changes to manage emotions and move forward).
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
Is a comprehensive and evidence-based approach that helps you become more aware of your surface and deeper emotions. Helps you transform old stuck patterns into fresh new feelings that better help you understand what you need in your present-day life.
EFT emphasizes the importance of emotions in our lives, highlighting their role in shaping our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Unlike other forms of therapy that focus solely on cognition or behavior, EFT places emotions at the center of the therapeutic process.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Is a type of mindful psychotherapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment.
It aims to help you move forward through difficult emotions so you can put your energy into healing instead of dwelling on the negative. You’ll pick up a various coping mechanisms specifically designed for your situation, which you can use throughout your life to handle challenging experiences.
